In the studio this week, we’re excited to share a new client, Coffin Mew, and a project we love!

Coffin Mew approached Glow to create the second edition of their company magazine, Connect. Having provided a copy of the first version, they were keen for the document to follow a similar styling but gave us free reign to add some Glow touches. It helped that we loved the original styling, but we could see where we could add elements to help elevate the design.

The Coffin Mew brand colours are bright and energetic, breaking the mould of other corporate legal companies, and this paired nicely with large imagery and bold typography.

Working closely with the Coffin Mew team, we worked together to create a suitable layout, introducing colour-coded sections for different sectors, and ‘call to action’ boxes to encourage reader engagement. We introduced dynamic angles for a modern aesthetic and included image bubbles for a friendly feel.

We wanted to create a document that was enticing to read and utilised varying columns and pull quotes to break up large paragraphs of text.

With a focus on Real Estate for this issue, the magazine needed imagery that reflects the South region, while not focusing on the coastal areas, so stock imagery was key.

While we didn’t handle the print, the Coffin Mew team chose an uncoated stock and a perfect bind for a polished feel.

We absolutely love the finished product and think it’s bright, friendly and contemporary.
